Who is T.M. Logan?

English author from Berkshire, TM Logan was a newspaper journalist, working for the Nottingham Evening Post and then the Daily Mail, before he went to work for the University of Nottingham as a press officer. It was during that time that he started writing novels.

In January 2017, his first thriller Lies was published. It became a hit on the ebook market and TM Logan became a full-time author. Since then, he published more thrillers with a lot of success.

His novels have sold more than two million copies in the UK and are published in translation in 22 countries around the world including France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Germany, South Korea, Poland, Hungary, Serbia, Greece, Romania, and the Netherlands.

His books The Holiday and The Catch were made into four-part dramas for Channel 5–the first starring Jill Halfpenny and Owen McDonnell, and the second starring Jason Watkins, Poppy Gilbert, Aneurin Barnard, and Cathy Belton.

Who is Karin Slaughter?

Born in 1971, Karin Slaughter is an American crime writer and best-selling author of more than 20 novels, including her Grant County and Will Trent series.

Published in 120 countries, Karin Slaughter lives in Atlanta and soon will see her stand-alone novel, Pieces of Her, adapted on-screen at Netflix, with Tony Collette in the lead role.

She is also the founder of Save the Libraries, a non-profit organization that campaigns to support US public libraries.

Who is Jo Baker?

Jo Baker is a British writer. She studied English Literature at Somerville College, Oxford, before moving to Belfast to study for an MA in Irish literature at Queen’s University. There she completed a Ph.D. on the Anglo-Irish novelist Elizabeth Bowen.

That was during that time that she met playwright Daragh Carville who encouraged her to write and that is what she did. She then published her first book, Offcomer, in 2002. 

Since then, Jo Baker published 7 more books, including the popular Longbourn, an alternative view of the events in Jane Austen‘s novel Pride and Prejudice, telling the story from the perspective of the servants at Longbourn, the Bennet family home.

Who is John Scalzi?

John Scalzi II is an American best-selling author who’s writing science fiction novels – and the popular blog Whatever. He publish his first novel, “Agent to the Stars,” on his website in 1999, but found success a few years later with Old Man’s War, a military science fiction book, and its sequels.

As he extended the Old Man’s War universe, John Scalzi wrote more series like the Lock In series, The Interdependency series, and more, but also stand-alone novels, and non-fiction books.

He also worked as a creative consultant on the science-fiction television show Stargate Universe, was the writer for the 2015 mobile device video game by Industrial Toys, called Midnight Star, and wrote a weekly column on science fiction/fantasy films for AMCTV.com.

Born in England, Ian James Ross studied painting before turning his attention to another art form. He is writing historical fiction for over a decade.

Who is Robin Hobb?

Robin Hobb is one of the pen names of Margaret Astrid Lindholm Odgen. She grew up in Alaska, a setting that has impacted her work. She had her first stories published when she was thirty, under her other pen name, Megan Lindholm.

A professional writer for almost 40 years, Robin Hobb writes epic traditional fantasy since 1995 with the publication of her book, Assassin’s Apprentice, the first one taking place in the Realm of Elderlings.

It is in this universe that most of Hobb’s books take place and she is known for her focus on the characters’ internal conflicts over the external. She has been nominated for and won multiple awards, and was given in 2021 the World Fantasy Award for Life Achievement.

Who is Beverly Cleary?

Beverly Cleary (1916-2021) was an award-winning American writer of children’s and young adult fiction. In fact, she was one of America’s most successful authors, selling more than 90 million copies of her books worldwide during her long career–that began in 1950 after working as a librarian for a decade.

In fact, it was during her time as a librarian that she realized that kids deserve books of literary quality. When she first started writing, Beverly took inspiration from the times she composed stories for children during Saturday afternoon story hours when she worked for the library in Yakima.

She later wrote about people living ordinary lives, some of her characters are in fact based on her own childhood experiences, the kids in her neighborhood growing up, as well as children she met while working as a librarian.

During her almost 50-year career, Beverly Cleary created popular characters such as Ramona Quimby and Beezus Quimby, Henry Huggins and his dog Ribsy, and Ralph S. Her work influenced more than one generation of writers and was enjoyed by millions of children.

Who is Lauren Oliver?

Lauren Oliver is an American author known for her work in the young adult sci-fi genre with the Delirium trilogy, but also for her book Panic which became an Amazon TV show, or Before I Fall, which became a movie with Zoey Deutch in 2017.

She attended NYU’s MFA program in creative writing while working at Penguin Books, in a young adult division called Razorbill. It was during that time that she started work on her own novel “Before I Fall.” She left in 2009 to become a full-time writer.

Lauren Oliver also wrote the Replica duology and, with H C Chester, she co-wrote the middle-grade fantasy series Curiosity House – in the vein of Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events -, and more recently, she published The Magnificent Monsters of Cedar Street.
