Who is Cassandra Clare?

Cassandra Clare is the pen name of Judith Lewis (née Rumelt), an American author of Young adult fantasy fiction. She is best known for her bestselling series The Mortal Instruments, which has been adapted into a movie in 2010 and into a television series, between 2016 and 2019.

Cassandra Clare is known to have first made a name as a fanfiction writer, mostly in the Harry Potter community with The Draco Trilogy. She published her first novel, The City of Bones, in 2007, which has been a Locus Award Nominee for Best First Novel 2008. This marks the beginning of The Shadowhunter Chronicles, now a media franchise still ongoing.

Who is Maggie Stiefvater?

Maggie Stiefvater is an American writer of Young Adult fiction. Born Heidi Hummel in Harrisonburg, Virginia, Maggie Stiefvater wanted to be a fighter pilot and race-car driver as a child. Though, it seems those plans didn’t stop her to pass a lot of time reading and writing, as she was already submitting manuscripts to publishers by age 16.

Stiefvater published her first novel, Lament, in 2008 and found success with Shiver, the first book in her Wolves of Mercy Falls fantasy series.

In parallel to writing, Maggie Stiefvater plays various musical instruments, make art and sometimes write about cars for magazine. She lives in Virginia with her husband, her two children, her five dogs, some cows, a cat and a horse.

Who is Laurell K. Hamilton?

Laurell K. Hamilton is an American fantasy and romance writer, best known for her Anita Blake series.

Born Laurell Kaye Klein, Laurell K. Hamilton grew up in northern Indiana with her grandmother. She attended Marion College (now called Indiana Wesleyan University) where she received degrees in English and biology.

She published her first book Nightseer in 1992, and the first book in the Anita Blake: Vampire Hunter series, Guilty Pleasures, the next year. The books have sold more than six million copies; many have made The New York Times Best Seller list.

Hamilton currently lives in St. Louis County, Missouri, with her husband and her daughter.

After being the guitarist, singer, and songwriter in the band Frankly Scarlet, Greg Iles started to explore a new direction, becoming a writer. He published his first book, a thriller, in 1993.

Who is Val McDermid?

Sometimes dubbed the Queen of Crime, Val McDermid grew up in Kirkcaldy on the East Coast of Scotland in a working class family. She was accepted to read English at St Hilda’s College, Oxford – at 17 before becoming a journalist. After two years of training in Devon, she worked fourteen years on national newspapers in Glasgow and Manchester.
