What is Secret Empire?

Big Marvel crossover published between April and September 2017, Secret Empire is one of thoses Universe Redefining massive event.

Of course, the most important thing here is that Captain America is a f***ing Hydra Agent! That was unexpected, to say the least, but we knew it before the event took place. So, we are not as surprised as his friends when he made his move and took control of America. Now, the ones who escaped the first assault must organize the resistance movement and fight the occupation. It’s long and transformative, as you may have guessed.

Kurt Wallander Books Order: How to read Henning Mankell’s series?

There are multiple Wallander versions on the small and the big screens (my favorite is the Kenneth Brannagh one), but there’s only one book series.

Who is Kurt Wallander?

Kurt Wallander is a fictional character created by Swedish crime writer Henning Mankell. He is a cop working for the Ystad police department. He is the kind of detective that invests himself on a very personal level in order to solve a crime.

Divorced, Wallander also has a daughter who, like him, became a cop. She is at the center of one book, but Mankell didn’t give her a series after the suicide of the actress playing the role in the Swedish TV series.

World War Hulk Reading Order: How To read the follow-up of Planet Hulk?

It seems that the news MCU movie, Thor: Ragnarok will integrate some bits and pieces from the World War Hulk storyline. It’s a good time to revisit it.

What is World War Hulk?

Written by Greg Pak with John Romita, Jr. as penciller, World War Hulk is a comic book crossover storyline published by Marvel Comics in 2007.

The story began with another story called Planet Hulk that started when a Gamma bomb causes the Hulk to lose control and attack Las Vegas. After that, the Illuminati decide the Hulk is too dangerous to remain on Earth and they trick him into leaving the planet. Everything didn’t go as planned. Hulk’s shuttle crashed on the planet Sakaar where he was taken into slavery and forced to fight gladiator battles for the planet’s emperor.

Now, he’s coming back on Earth and he wants vengeance. The World War Hulk begins.

What is the Night Huntress series?

Published since 2007, the Night Huntress series mainly centers around the half-vampire Catherine ‘Cat’ Crawfield and her full vampire/bounty hunter partner and lover Bones. They lived in a world where supernatural creatures exist, but are not in the public eye.

After the Night Huntress series came the Night Prince series, a spin-off following the characters of Vlad Tepesh (don’t call him Dracula please) and the mortal Leila with psychic abilities.

Smiley wasn’t necessarily a central character each time he made an appearance in one of Le Carré’s book. After all, even with a long career, being a spy required to live in the shadows. Smiley may be the most famous British spy after James Bond, but he was definitely another kind of spy.

Love and Rockets Reading Order: How to read Gilbert and Jaime Hernandez comics?

For a long time, I’ve heard of Love & Rockets. I recently decided to start reading the series, but didn’t know where to start. So, I did some research and here it is. I’ll probably update this guide during my readings, but it could take some time, so don’t be afraid to add more in the comments. Thanks.

What’s Love and Rockets?

Love and Rockets is a long running comic series written by Gilbert and Jamie Hernandez. It’s kind of an anthology, each brother working independently from the other, so there are two stories and more.

On Jaime side, it’s been one long story named Locas for the last decades. It’s about a group of punk rockers and their transition into adult life. On Gilbert side, there are more ongoing stories and some short stories too. The bigger one is Palomar & Luba, the inhabitants of Palomar, about a poor central American town and the inhabitants as they go on to live in America. And then, there are even more.
