What is the Thomas Kydd Series about?

The Thomas Kydd series is written by Julian Stockwin MBE, an English author of historical action-adventure fiction. He served for the Royal Navy and the Royal Australian Navy before joining the University of Tasmania where he study cross-cultural psychology. He later rejoined the Navy.

Stockwin’s writing career started in 1996. The Kydd series hit the shelves five years later and became his main work.

Set during the Age of Fighting Sail, the series focuses on the adventures of the young Kydd, who was pressed into service on a British ship in 1793. This is “a dramatic story closely based on real events following one man’s journey as he becomes a true sailor and defender of Britain.” There are 25 books in the series.

What are the Museum Mysteries about?

The Museum Mysteries is a historical mystery series coming from Jim Eldridge. As an English radio, film, and television screenwriter, he wrote hundreds of radio and TV scripts that were broadcast in the United Kingdom and across the world in a career spanning over 30 years.

In 1971, Eldridge sold his first sitcom to the BBC, but it was also the beginning of his book career as his first one was commissioned. Since then he has had more than 100 books published.

The Museum Mysteries series revolves around Daniel Wilson. Former Detective Inspector, he now works as a private inquiry agent assisted by his partner, archaeologist-cum-detective Abigail Fenton. Together, they are dubbed the “The Museum Detectives” as they often investigate crimes connected to museums.

Who is S. G. MacLean?

Shona G. MacLean is a Scottish author with a degree in History from the University of Aberdeen who writes historical mysteries.

MacLean published her first book, The Redemption of Alexander Seaton, in 2008. It was the first novel in the Alexander Seaton Series, a mystery series in the vein of Shardlake or Cadfael. She also writes The Damian Seeker Series about a London detective in the 1650s.

S. G. MacLean is the niece of best-selling author Alistair MacLean.
