What is the Star Wars: Jedi Academy series about?

Star Wars: Jedi Academy is a non-canon series of Star Wars young-reader novels published by Scholastic and targeted at grade-school audiences. The books have been written by Jeffrey Brown, Jarrett J. Krosoczka, and Amy Ignatow.

The story follows Roan Novachez, then Victor Starspeeder, and Christina Starspeeder and is told through a mix of comics, doodles, and journal entries.

The action takes place at a Jedy Academy where young Force-sensitive beings are trained in the ways of the Force.

How to read the Star Wars: Jedi Academy Books in Order?

1. Jedi Academy – Roan’s one dream is to leave home and attend Pilot Academy like his older brother, father, and grandfather. But just as Roan is mysteriously denied entrance to Pilot School, he is invited to attend Jedi Academy–a school that he didn’t apply to and only recruits children when they are just a few years old. That is, until now…
2. Return of the Padawan – After surviving his first year at Jedi Academy, Roan Novachez thought his second year would be a breeze. He couldn’t have been more wrong. Roan feels like he’s drifting apart from his friends, and it’s only made worse when Roan discovers he’s not the amazing pilot he thought he’d be. When the school bullies take him under their wing, he decides they aren’t so bad after all — or are they?
3. The Phantom Bully – It’s hard to believe this is Roan’s last year at Jedi Academy. He’s been busier than ever learning to fly (and wash) starships, swimming in the Lake Country on Naboo, studying for the Jedi obstacle course exam, and tracking down dozens of vorpak clones–don’t ask. But now, someone is setting him up to get in trouble with everyone at school, including Yoda. If he doesn’t find out who it is, and fast, he may get kicked out of school! Why can’t middle school just be easy. . .

4. A New Class – Victor Starspeeder is psyched to be starting school at the Jedi Academy. His sister, Christina does not share an enthusiasm for Victor’s newfound educational path. Victor will have to make new friends, get on his sister’s good side, learn to use the force, and hope the year’s drama club performance goes off without a hitch!
5. The Force Oversleeps – Victor Starspeeder is back at Jedi Academy for year two, but it’s not going the way he’d planned. He was thrilled about Drama Club and hoped to get the lead in this year’s musical… But a new kid got the role! Plus, he keeps oversleeping and getting to class late . . . Worst of all, his big sister Christina is getting ready to graduate from Jedi Academy, and there are rumors going around that she’s a Sith! What’s a Padawan to do? In times when he feels more alone than ever, Victor will have to trust the ways of the Force and his friends if he’s going to survive year two
6. The Principal Strikes Back – It’s Victor Starspeeder’s third year at Jedi Academy! It’s also his first year EVER without his sister, Christina. Plus, things at Jedi Academy are… weird. After last year’s security breach, Principal Marr has been demoted and replaced with Commander ZC-04, a big, scary droid. There’s a curfew, new regulations, and everyone is on edge. But when Victor and his friends dig a little deeper into the changes at the school, they find that there’s a lot more to this story than the droids want to admit!

7. Revenge of the Sis – Christina Starspeeder, legendary Padawan and sister to Victor Starspeeder, has graduated from the Jedi Academy at Coruscant. But that doesn’t mean her education is over! Just the opposite. Now Christina is a student at the advanced Jedi Academy at Jedha City. It’s super big, and super stressful. At Coruscant, Christina was top of her class. But at this new school, it seems like everyone is on a different level. To make matters worse, she’s apprenticing under legendary Jedi Skia Ro, whose droid seems to have it out for Christina. Since when did droids come preprogrammed with attitude? Every time Skia Ro gives Christina a task, she manages to screw it up. Can Christina step it up at this new school? Or will she get booted out to the outer rim?
8. Attack of the Furball – When working on the planet Cholganna, Christina falls in love with a baby nexu – a cat-like creature who’s fluffiness is impossible to resist. But when she sneaks the nexu – named “Fluffernut” – back into the dorms, Christina slowly begins to realize why it’s never a good idea to take wild animals for pets. Fluffernut begins growing and growing – she’ll eventually grow to be 14 feet long and 3 feet tall! Plus, she’s chewing up EVERYTHING in sight. And if that weren’t bad enough, a mysterious bounty hunter seems to be on her trail, trying to steal Fluffernut back. Can Christina escape this jam without getting thrown out of Jedi Academy? Or will this be the end of her Jedi Academy career?
9. At Last, Jedi – The epic conclusion to the Starspeeder saga takes us on a new adventure at the advanced Jedi Academy campus. There are unfamiliar faces and old ones too, but one thing remains the same: Jedi Academy is full of laughs and warm moments.
