Who is Robin Cook?

Born on May 4th, 1940, Robin Cook is an American writer of medical thrillers. He attended Wesleyan University and the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons before completing his postgraduate medical study at Harvard.

Cook began to write while serving on the Polaris submarine USS Kamehameha during the Vietnam War. His first published book, The Year of The Intern, was a failure, but it didn’t discourage Cook. After that, he decided to study bestsellers to find how the reader was manipulated by the reader and used all those techniques in his book, Coma. He then found success, as his second book became one of his most famous and has been adapted twice: the first one in a movie by Michael Crichton in 1978 and a second time in a two-part miniseries in 2012.

Robin Cook’s books mix medical facts with fantasy. He explores with his stories various medical subjects such as organ donation and transplantation, fertility treatment, in vitro fertilization, genetic engineering, research funding, managed care, medical malpractice, medical tourism, and drug research.

All of Jenn McKinlay’s Books in Order!

Who is Jenn McKinlay?

Jenn McKinlay is an American author, a New York Times, USA Today, and Publisher’s Weekly bestselling author of several mystery and romance series. When Jennifer was a kid, she wanted to be a jockey, but she was already too tall at age nine. She thought about becoming a writer after seeing the movie Romancing the Stone, mostly inspired to be like Kathleen Turner’s character.

She studied English Literature and Library Science at the Southern Conn State University and then worked full-time as a librarian. To be able to write, she decided to move to a more affordable place, in Arizona, in order to take a part-time job and began to write romance novels. She also met her husband and had a boy.

Her first book was published in 2005, and Jenn McKinlay discovered soon that she was better at killing people than making them fall in love. After that, she wrote several mystery books, leading her, in time, to write the Cupcake Mystery series, Library Lover’s Mystery Series, and the Hat Shop Mystery Series. She recently returned to the romance genre, following her editor’s advice.
