The Shatter Me series is a young adult dystopian thriller series written by Iranian-American author Tahereh Mafi. In a crumbling world under the dictatorship of the Reestablishment, the young Juliette Ferrars is locked away in a cell. She is not an ordinary teenager.

In fact, she is a lethal one as a touch from her can kill. She is as much a threat as she is potentially the ultimate weapon. Juliette will have to fight to save herself and the ones she loves.

How to read the Shatter Me Books in Order?

  1. Shatter Me – One touch is all it takes. One touch and Juliette Ferrars can leave a fully grown man gasping for air. One touch and she can kill. No one knows why Juliette has such incredible power. But The Reestablishment sees her as an opportunity for a deadly weapon. Juliette has never fought for herself before. But she finds a strength she never knew she had…
  2. Destroy Me (novella) – Told from the perspective of Warner. Even though Juliette shot him in order to escape, Warner can’t stop thinking about her. But when the Supreme Commander of The Reestablishment arrives, he has many different plans for Juliette.
  3. Unravel Me – It should have taken Juliette a single touch to kill Warner. But his immunity to her power has left her shaken, wondering why her defense mechanism failed against the person she most needs protection from. She and Adam were able to escape Warner’s clutches and join up with a group of rebels, many of whom have powers of their own.
  4. Fracture Me (novella) – Told from Adam’s perspective. As the Omega Point rebels prepare to fight the Sector 45 soldiers, Adam’s more focused on the safety of Juliette, Kenji, and his brother. The Reestablishment will do anything to crush the resistance…
  5. Ignite Me – With Omega Point destroyed, Juliette doesn’t know if the rebels, her friends, or even Adam are alive. But that won’t keep her from trying to take down The Reestablishment once and for all. Now she must rely on Warner. The one person she never thought she could trust.
  1. Restore Me – The girl with the power to kill with a single touch now has the world in the palm of her hand. Juliette Ferrars thought she’d won. She took over Sector 45, was named the new Supreme Commander of North America, and now has Warner by her side. But when tragedy strikes, she must confront the darkness that dwells both around and inside her.
  2. Shadow Me (novella) – Juliette is still reeling from her ally’s betrayal, and Kenji is trying to balance his friendship with her with his responsibilities as a leader of the resistance. Things get even more interesting when an unexpected person from Omega Point’s past surfaces.
  3. Defy Me – Juliette Ferrars isn’t who she thinks she is. Nothing in her world is what it seemed. She thought she’d finally defeated the Reestablishment. She thought she’d finally taken control of her life, her power, and her pain. But Juliette has only just begun to unravel a lifetime of lies, and she finds herself faced with a familiar choice: Be a weapon. Or be a warrior.
  4. Reveal Me (novella) – This fourth novella in the series brings readers back to the world of the Shatter Me series before the final novel installment.
  5. Imagine Me – Now that Juliette knows who she is and what she was created for, things have only become more complicated. As she struggles to understand the past that haunts her and looks to a future more uncertain than ever, the lines between right and wrong blur. And with old enemies looming, her destiny may not be her own to control. The day of reckoning for the Reestablishment is coming.
  6. Believe Me (novella) – The romantic fifth novella chronicles the events after Imagine Me, the sixth novel. Published in November 2021.

    1. I’ve read Shatter Me and Destroy Me, it’s safe to say that I am mesmerized. I had to find out the exact sequence of the books so that I could read them in the correct order, they are amazing so far!!

    2. Hi do I have to read the all novellas to understand? Can I just read the main books or read only certain novellas?

    3. if you read her perspective and then his its fine. thats what im planning on doing. just read the books with the open eyes and you’ll understand it.

    4. hi Zara,
i read shatter me, unravel me, and ignite me (in that order) and that was enough to understand the story line. i loved them and definitely recommend. i read restore me, defy me, and imagine me after. but they weren’t quite as good, it just got kind of messy and confusing after ignite me.

    5. The main five books are enough to understand, I feel that the novellas are to give ore perspectives.

    6. the novellas are more like extra info like add ons, they aren’t necessary to read to understand

    7. no you don’t i read the main books and i understood everything. The novellas just give a bit more background info but you don’t need the novella

    1. Not really. It’s like reading the back of a book. If you grabbed a book off of the shelf at random and just started reading it you’d probably be a bit confused and there’s a chance you probably won’t even like the book at all. If you pick up a random book off of the shelf at random, read the back of it then chose to read it or not, then you’re not getting spoilers you’re just being notified that, for example, Destroy Me is written from Warner’s perspective.

    2. @Name, yes but still when you read the back of a book you haven’t read yet and it says “she finally thinks she took down the reestablishment now she has been named the supreme commander of North America and has Warner by her side” that is all stuff that happened in the book that came before that one and if you haven’t read any or only read the first one it really spoils it.

  1. Hi! I just finished the first book and was wondering if this series can be read as a trilogy? I’m sure that the other books are great but, my TBR is getting way to long lol… pls get back to me if you can help me out! have a great day 🙂

    1. Well I thought the same and now I’m going to start reading shadow me and I don’t regret a second I wasted on reading ….. the series is so good but if you got things to do I feel like it’s not important u k

    2. no, you don’t have to as some people only read the first three, but there’s more to the storyline than just those three so if you really enjoy the books i definitely recommend getting the next three ! 🙂 hope this helped !!

  2. ya It can be read as a trilogy .The first time I read it, I also read It as trilogy .but if your not in a hurry try reading the 1st novella ,I myself really enjoyed it(if u like Warner).

    1. Is the novella not connected to the story line then? I’m struggling at the price of these books lol. Can I skip buying the novellas?

    2. Yeah u don’t have the bout the novellas they either don’t continue with the stories or are in other peoples point of views. I found “fracture me” by adams POV for free online

    3. @Kenley, I haven’t read them all yet but I already hate him and I have found out so many spoilers of what happens in the end considering him and I wasn’t sure if I could continue but then I was like NO I neeeeed to or I will die

  3. So I’m not sure if this helps anyone because I only just figured this out but the book ‘Untie Me’ Contains both ‘Destroy Me’ and ‘Fracture Me’. And in the book ‘Find Me’ it has both ‘Shadow Me’ and ‘Reveal Me’. Two novellas in one! Keep it simple:

UNTIE ME ——-》’Destroy Me’ + ‘Fracture Me’.
FIND ME ——-》’Shadow Me’ + ‘Reveal Me’

  4. Just like Nateria I’ve also read shatter me and destroy, I saw them at a library and was immediately intrigued. I had to make sure that I had all the books and in the right order so this was really to make sure, but also I’ve already heard so many spoilers and I literally almost think I’m dying and I just needed to say that somewhere but yeah this was great.
